Feast Day

Virtues assembly.

On the 8th of December it was feast day, if you don’t know what feast day is exactly I will tell you. Feast day as a catholic school isn’t about a big feast, it’s about how Mary was born with no original sin. So what we did for feast day might surprise you ! Firstly we had a special virtues assembly about what feast day is? We listened to a song in church as well about how Mary was born with no original sin.

PTFA RAFFLE

After assembly we went to draw the raffle, four kids won a prize, but the rest of the winners we didn’t know, so Ms Buckley called them for them to redeem their prize. Honour and Carter won top selling. Then when the big raffle prizes were called out, One of my friends little brothers got prize five, then a year seven won one as well ! Congrats to the others who won a prize !

TOP TEAMS!

In the middle block, we had Top Teams. Basically we got into groups of our house colour, about 5 or 6 in a group. I was in a team with Hamawera, Leisha, Thomas, and Brighton. They were all very friendly and kind. We got given a sheet of paper and wrote a team name, ¨ The Reds ¨ we really couldn’t think of anything better. We looked at our activity sheet and went to our first activity which was a memory maze, we versed aquinas. We finished three mazes overall. We wrote our score on our sheet and then  we went activity to activity, and wrote our score for every game. In the end, our score was 460. We sadly did not place anything but it was still worth the experience  .

TALENT QUEST

After top teams was the talent show, which I performed in. We were called first ! I was so nervous and scared but doing a Play with my friends was making everything better, our play was called Santa’s Holiday Meltdown. I was an elf called Tinsel, Saffron  was an elf,  jingle, Erin was Santa, and Bella was the grinch. Our play ended up being good ! But the other performances were crazy ! There were backflips, singing, and dances. Everything was so cool ! At the end everyone got a certificate and a lolly.

In the end I found everything to be really fun, feast day was awesome and better than I expected !

Have you ever done top teams at your school ?

Science

Today in the morning, we looked at science stuff like the  Newtons cradle, Mystery tube, Jacobs ladder, rattle back, and the splink. They were all crazy and satisfying, but if I had to pick the best out of them all, I would pick Jacobs ladder. Because of how satisfying and fiddly it was. Here  is a video. Do you enjoy science ?

Fish n chip night invitation

Today I have made an invite for my family on fish n chip night. Fish n chip night is when  parents come down to the school and watch classes perform while eating some Fish n Chips. My invite looks friendly, and says  the time and date. Just so they don’t miss it. This is my invite!

Do you do fish n chip night at your school?

Market Day

Yesterday near the end of the day, parents came into the school and helped kids set up for the market. I was surprised to see a lot of kids and parents setting up so fast.  When me and Saffron helped my Mum set up our stall people were already looking at our desert , maybe it was because we had $1 M&M cookies, $4 lemonade scones with whip cream and berry jam. Then Saffron had dog treats, choc cake pops, claw clips, plants, and bracelets.  We sold A LOT, like a very big amount of our stuff. Thank you Miss Hamilton and Summer for buying out the dog treats, hopefully your dogs liked them ! I went around a lot  to different stalls, and my best buys was a christmas card and a hand made scrunchie.

Have you ever been to a school market?

Athletics day 👟🏅

On Tuesday 14th October we had athletics day, athletics was all day so we didn’t have to do any school work for the entire day ! Lets start off with my favourite rotation.

My favourite rotation would have to be discus or shot put, because they were fun and easy to do but of course I tried my hardest on everything and same did everyone else, my second favourite had to be long jump because it was fun but challenging at the same time ! My third favourite had to be sprints because I made it into the finals but oh boy that was challenging but fun as well.

My LEAST favourite had to be 800m it wasn’t that hard but still very challenging lucky my Dad was cheering me on so I boosted to the end. Then it was high jump because I could only get over the bar ONCE which is impressive but not that good at the same time.

Have you ever qualified in athletics before?

Maths grid battle ships 🚢

Me and Saffron versed in a game of battle ships for maths but it wasn’t any type of battle ships you play at home its a grid battle ships! So we had to call out a grid  like C4 and H6 The grid only went down to J10 and if that grid had a ship on you would say “hit”, but if you didn’t get the ship you would say “Miss” Saffron won the game so congrats to her !

Here is the grid    Do you like learning about grids?

Viscosity science !

Today in room 1 we learnt about viscosity, and what it is. How we experimented this was we went into groups of 5 or 6 and got some liquids and they were, washing up liquid, golden syrup, baking oil, and water. We got a board with number 1-8 and placed the liquid on it while the board was flat, and after that we titled the board slowly upwards and saw the viscosity. The highest viscosity was the water and the lowest was golden syrup.
