This week was book character week! Heaps of kids dressed up!  It was really interesting what people came up with . I was Winnie The Pooh so creative right? Yeah so we went to different rooms  for different activities like quizzes or drawing. This is a picture of me! With Frankie and Saffron. whats your favorite book character?

For the past couple weeks Room 1 has been working on persuasive writing. Here is my writing:

In my opinion children should of course wear school uniform and this is why I think so. Read on to know why it’s  best to wear school uniform.

Firstly, children should wear school uniform to school especially on field trips to zoos,public pools, and other big crowded places. If you don’t wear school uniform and go missing it would be harder to get back.

Secondly, its polite and respectful wearing school uniform and  other people will think that your  clean and  wealthy. Also  that you go to a good school. Imagine what  some kids could wear ! Like the seniors if you don’t understand then let me put it this way. They might wear short crop tops, short skirts, stuff like that. They are revealing.

And lastly, what if a poor family joins our school any school! They might not be able to afford  clothes or their clothes are dirty because they don’t have much clothes. They can just buy school uniform and that’s done for them.

In conclusion this is why I think it’s best to wear your school  uniform!

  Its Te Reo week and I made  a really cool poster! Mine says ”E Kore te patiki e hoki ki tona puehu.” That means the flounder does not return to his dust. like how it will not make the same mistake twice.

Today on Friday the 6th of September,  room 1 went to Orua Paeroa that means Travis Wetlands ! We first got into our car groups. I was in the biggest group with Miss Hamilton. We went in a Youth Alive van pretty cool not gonna lie! As soon as we got there Pukekos were welcoming us by walking up to  us .We were not allowed to touch them sadly.

We  had to go for a activity that was sitting I guess.So we listened to this audio about what they ate and stuff. Also we saw what NZ looked like in the past and right now and lastly what were hoping the Wetlands to look like in the future. Most of it was photo shopped. We ate on a type of tarp. Time for the other activity guess what we did?!

If you guessed bird watching you are correct! We even saw black swan, Canadian geese, pukekos,and welcome swallows. After we ate morning tea on that tarp thing we looked at parasites that were in a lake. We had this thing that scoops up moss and the parasites . The most common bug was a water boatman someone even found a leech! Then back to the place we came from.

We packed up  and went into our car groups, guess what me, Sophia, Elisa, and Summer all sung ”The wheels on the bus!”

Today we have been doing some art and learning. We learned about Henri Matisse a famous artist for his unique type of art. called Art Collage. Room 1/7 have been trying to make this type of art here is a picture of my Art collage i think it turned out great! Would you try out this unique type of art?

This week our virtue is respecting ourselves. This means we take care of ourselves by washing our hair, brushing our teeth,and washing  body. One example of this is brushing our teeth every morning and night. Im going to practice this virtue by showering  every morning before school. What could you do to practice this virtue?
